Traditional Turkish Music, fundamentally in character is a type of music that is conducted by voice and emphasises the beauty of human voice together with the power of meaning possessed by the lyrics. The major part of the existing repertoire consists of masterpieces with lyrics. Considering all these conditions, the duty of the instruments has always remained as accompanying the human voice in Traditional Turkish Music. Although classical pesrevs and saz semasi do not have any lyrics, they give the impression that they were written for human voice. They are in such a style that if lyrics were placed beneath, they would be full compositions. Therefore, it can be said that, the stringed instruments masterpieces composed in Turkish music are not composed according to the talents and capacity of the instrument, but rather according to the talents and capacity of the human voice. Having been the accompaniment of human voice in the background has not enabled a wide instrumental repertoire to be created. For the formation and continuation of virtuosos; it is necessary that special education techniques, special instrument conducting techniques and instrument repertoires that enable the performance of virtuoso talents are created... It is inevitable that in the lack of such repertoire, Virtuosos can also not be created... In such case, because of the lack of masterpieces that will push the interpreter and enable the virtuoso fully display his talent, virtuosos will not be formed. Until this century, we can not observe music written specifically for an instrument. Masterpieces are written for a whole team of instruments. In such situation, where masterpieces composed among the difficulties and possibilities of each instrument lack, compositions that push the boundaries of instruments and that are hard of perform have not been created. Tanburi Cemil Bey and after; although the character of saz semais are more suitable for instruments, pesrevs are more like written for human voice. Some saz semais in new style that started with Tanburi Cemil Bey have been composed as IXmasterpieces that will be performed bye one or more stringed instrument rather than as an ending for a fasil.Towards our time, saz semais that push the capacities of instruments have also been written. Saz semais of Reşat Aysu are leading examples. Reşat Aysu has composed masterpieces of stringed instruments that are only possible to perform by artists that are at the level of virtuosos but these masterpieces are extraordinarily beautiful. Whilst composing these masterpieces, under the influence of western music education he has acquired, he has used the features, positions and the available voice field of instruments instead of staying in the boundaries of human voice. He has also used the in tune, arpeggio structure and techniques of embellishment, tremolo, legato, staccato, even glissando, portamento of the western music. He has also shown elements such as stroking 2 or more strings at times, playing of tunes out of note in western discipline, and because of having used all the above mentioned characteristics in his masterpieces differently than all the previous composers, he has a different and special place among all Composers of Traditional Turkish Music.
