Demostan türetilen demokrasi kavramı, dünün ve bugünün dünyasındaki tartışmalara konu olagelmiştir. Kendi içerisinde farklı türlere ayrılan demokrasi, teorisyenlerce hem bir kavram olarak hem de bu türlerden hangisinin insanın toplumsallaşma sürecine yanıt vereceği tartışmasına konu edilmektedir. Kimlik politikalarının ve özcülüğün karşısında bir tutum takınan çağdaş agonistik demokrasi modeli bunlardan yalnızca biridir. Bu model çoğulculuğa vurgu yaparak kimliklerin ve onun varoluş koşulu olan farklılıkların çatışmasını veya tartışmasını konu edinmektedir. Bunu yaparken bizlere yeni bir kamusallık modeli sunmaktadır. Bu tezde feminizmin temel uğraklardan biri olan kamusal ve özel alan tartışmasının farklı ve eleştirel bir perspektiften yeniden ele alınması öngörülmüştür. Konsensüse dayanan bir kamusallığın tersine, çatışmaya dayanan agonistik model benimsenmiştir. Özgürlüğün ve çoğulcu siyasetin temellerine yaslanan bu düşünce, Hannah Arendt'in kamusal ve özel alan tartışmasıyla iç içe geçirilmiştir. Gerilimlerden kaçınmayan ve ötekini yok saymayan bir farklılıkların kabulü anlayışına nasıl ulaşılacağı ve onların biraradalığına nasıl erişileceği tartışılmıştır. Bu tartışmalardan hareketle kamusallığı yeniden formüle eden, agonistik feminizmin temel tartışmalarına yer verilmiştir.

Derived from demos, the concept of democracy has always been a subject of discussions in both yesterday's and today's world. Dividing into many different types, democracy has been discussed by theoreticians both as a concept and as a pursuit of an answer to the question 'which one of those types will address humans' socialization process?' Contemporary agonistic model of democracy, which stands against identity politics and essentialism, is only one of them. Emphasizing pluralism, this model deals with the conflicts or discussions of identities and the condition of these identities' existence, that is, differences. Thus, it offers us a new model of publicity. In this thesis, the discussion of public and private spheres, which is one of the main hubs that feminism lives on, is readdressed from a different and critical perspective. Rather than the idea of publicity based on an idea of consensus, the argument in the thesis leans toward an agonistic model based on the concept of conflict. Based on the foundations of freedom and political pluralism, this thought is intertwined with Arendt's argument of public and private spheres. How to reach the differences that do not avoid tensions and do not ignore the other, and how to provide their togetherness is also discussed. From this viewpoint, a main discussion of agonistic feminism that reformulates publicity is included in the thesis.
