İnsanın uğraştığı her şeyle zekânın ilişkisi vardır. Zekâ zihinsel süreçlerin çıktısı iken zekilik bu çıktıları üretme ve kullanma yeteneğidir. Stratejik zekâ ise stratejik açıdan anlamlı zekâsal çıktılardır. Eğer stratejik zekâ bir sistem dâhilinde üretilmezse organizasyon yöneticilerin zekâ üretme kabiliyetine hapsolur. Stratejik zekâ sisteminin eksikliği organizasyonu sadece yöneticilerin zekiliğine bağımlı hale getirdiğinden performans açığına ve stratejik başarısızlığa yol açar. Bu olumsuzluğu stratejik zekâ yönetimini sistemleştirerek aşmak amacıyla bu çalışmada yönetim sistemi ve zekâ üretme modelleri ayrı ayrı geliştirilmiş, stratejik zekâ yönetim süreçleri tanımlanmış, zekânın stratejik yönetime entegrasyonunu irdelenmiş ve stratejik zekânın performansla ilişkisi araştırılmıştır. Stratejik zekâ kabiliyetinin kurumsal performansa etkisini ortaya çıkarmak için Türkiye'deki 500 büyük sanayi kuruluşu arasından rastgele seçilen örneklem ile yüz yüze anket yapılmış ve istatistiki yöntemlerle analiz edilmiştir. Analizler stratejik zekâ kabiliyetlerinin kurumsal performansı büyük ölçüde etkilediğini göstermiştir. Bu nedenle, organizasyonların üstün performans göstermesi ve sürdürmesi için stratejik zekâ yönetim sistemini kurmaları gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
The intelligence is almost involved in all issues that human beings deal with. The intelligence is outputs of cognitive processes while the cleverness is an ability to generate and use these outputs. In case of strategic management, the intelligence refers to cognitive outputs that are strategically meaningful. Strategic intelligence is dependent on cognitive capabilities of managers unless it is systematically produced within the organizational management system. Lack of strategic intelligence system confines organizations solely to cleverness of managers, leading to performance gaps and strategic failures. To overcome these drawbacks by systematizing management of strategic intelligence, this study developed separate models for management systems and intelligence generation systems, identified strategic intelligence management processes, elaborated integration of intelligence into strategic management and investigated relation of strategic intelligence to performance. A random sample drawn from top 500 industrial enterprises of Turkey is surveyed face-to face in order to statistically analyze impacts of their strategic intelligence capabilities on corporate performance. The analyses indicate that establishment of strategic intelligence management system makes profound impacts on corporate performance. Thus, the study concludes that establishment strategic management system is a requirement for attainment of outstanding corporate performance and its sustainability.
