ÖZ Bu çalışmada 19.yüzyıl Osmanlı Devleti'nin Hüdavendigâr Livası'nm Kütahya Sancağı'na bağlı Virancık ( Örencik ) Nahiyesi'nin sosyo-ekonomik yapısı, Osmanlı Arşivi kaynaklan ışığında çeşitli veçheleri ile incelenilmiştir. Ele alınan bölgenin ilgili dönemdeki nüfus, üretim yapısı, işletmelerin nitelikleri, gelirin kaynakları, tarımsal verimlilik ve vergiler gibi ekonomik ve sosyal hayatın temel alanlarıyla ilgili ayrıntılı kantitatif bilgiler üretilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışma mukayeseli bir ekonomik ve sosyal yapı değerlendirmesi niteliğindedir. ABSTRACT In this study sosyo-ekonomik structure of Virancık ( Örencik ) town of Kütahya province of Hüdavendigâr state of Ottoman Empire is examined in various aspects under the light of Ottoman archives. Detailed and guantitative information is tried to be provided coceming the basic areas of economic and social life such as population, structure of production, attributes of enterprises, sources of income, agricultural productivity and taxes of the considered region. The study is a contrastive economic and social structure evaluation. Ill
