Bu araştırma, 6- 12 yaş orta- ağır zihinsel geriliği olan çocukların eğitiminde ses, ritim ve hareket uygulamalarını esas alarak 25 (yirmi beş) dersten oluşan bir model sunmayı amaçlamıştır. Bu dersler MEB tarafından Özel Eğitim ve Uygulama Okulları için hazırlanmış Müzik dersi müfredatına uygun bir biçimde yapılandırılmıştır. Araştırmanın güvenirliği 'Katılımlı- Katılımsız Gözleme Dayalı Nitel Değerlendirme Formları', 'Yapılandırılmamış Görüşme' ve 'Anket' verileri ile desteklenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, araştırma dâhilinde önerilen uygulamaların orta- ağır zihinsel geriliği olan çocukların bilişsel, duyuşsal ve psikomotor gelişimleri ile kişilik gelişimi ve dil ve konuşma sorunlarına fayda sağlayabileceği kaydedilmiştir.
This research aims to present a model which is formed 25 (twenty five) lessons basing on the sound, rhythm and movement activities in the education of six to twelve year old children who is moderately and severely retarded. These lessons are appropriately structured according to curriculum of music education which is prepared for the special children by Ministry of Education. The reliability of this research supported with the datas gathered from 'Participant/Non Participant Observation', 'Unstructured Interview' and two 'Surveys'. A a result, it is noted that the practices proposed in this research can be useful on the moderalty and severely retarded children's cognitive, sensory an psychomotor development and they can be benefical on their personality development and can be helpful on the speech problems.
