Bu araştırma projesinin amacı, 20. yüzyıldan günümüze kadar bestelenmiş eserlerde karşımıza çıkabilecek yeni obua çalım teknikleri hakkında bilgiler sunmaktır. Bu tekniklerin çalımını kolaylaştıracak çalışmalara ve bilgilere yer verilmiştir.Tezin ilk bölümünde 20. yüzyıl müziğinin genel yapısı, tarihi ve gelişimi incelenmiştir. Bu dönem müziğinin diğer dönemlerden farkı ve bestecilerin eserlerinde gösterdikleri yenilikler anlatılmıştır. İkinci bölümünde bu dönemde kullanılan çeşitli obua teknikleri araştırılmış, bu tekniklerin uygulanmasını sağlayan çalışmalar ve bilgiler sunulmuştur. Avant-garde dönemden sırasıyla postmodernizme kadar yeni çıkan akımlar incelenmiştir. Tezin üçüncü bölümünde obua repertuarına yenilik katmış obuacılar hakkında bilgilere, dördüncü bölümünde de modern obua müziğinde yer alan temalara ve bu dönemde yazılmış obua eserleri hakkında bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Bir çok eser belirli temalar, hikayeler ya da şiirler üzerine yazılmıştır. En önemli birkaç eserin konuları açıklanmıştır. Tezin son bölümünde obua repertuarındaki postmodernizm dönemi anlatılmıştır. Bu dönem hakkında araştırmalar yapılmış, gerekli bilgi ve düşünceler bu tezden yararlanacak obuacılar için derlenmiştir.
The aim of this study is to provide useful information about new extended techniques in oboe playing that we might come across in modern works composed in the 20th century and 21st century. This study also includes exercises and other information that would help in playing these extended techniques easily.The first section consists of the general structure, history, and development of 20th century music, focusing on the difference of 20th century music from other eras and new approaches of modern composers. The second section is a research on different oboe techniques used in 20th century music, and provides the reader with exercises on how to use these techniques and other important information. New trends starting from the avant-garde period up to postmodernism are analyzed. The third section provides information about oboe players who have contributed new approaches to the oboe repertoire. The fourth section discusses themes in modern oboe music and gives information about oboe works composed in this period. Most of the works have been based on certain themes, stories or poems. The themes of the most important works are discussed in this study. The final section talks about the postmodern era in oboe repertoire. Useful information about this era is provided to oboists interested in this study.
