İnsan, düşünen ve sorgulayan bir varlık olarak daima yeni arayışların peşine düşmüştür. Yeni arayışlar ve sorgulamalar beraberinde çelişkileri; çelişkiler beraberinde gelişmeyi ve değişmeyi getirmiştir. Sürekli değişim içinde olan insan, mimariyi de bu değişim süreciyle birlikte farklı şekillerde tanımlama gayreti içinde olmuştur. Bu çerçeveden bakıldığında mimarlık içinde yaşanan dinamik ve üretken süreç, kaosun mimarlık ile birlikte nasıl ifade edilebileceğine dair yeni olguların oluşmasına yol açmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışma, kaos kavramı üzerinden mimariyi okumak ve kaos-yapı ilişkisini ifade etmek amacıyla oluşturulmuştur. Kaosun yapı ve yapıyı oluşturan mekan anlayışına yeni bir bakış açısı sağlayacağı düşüncesi ile ele alınan çalışmada, Genel Bilgiler, Yapılan Çalışmalar, Bulgular ve Tartışma, Sonuçlar ve Öneriler olmak üzere dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Genel Bilgiler bölümünde, kaosun genel bir tanımlaması yapılmış; çalışmanın amacı, varsayımları, kapsamı ve yöntemi açıklanmıştır. Yapılan Çalışmalar bölümünde, tezin temel amacına uygun olduğu düşünülen bir durum çalışması yapılmış ve dört aşamadan meydana gelen bir çalışma sistemi oluşturulmuştur. Bu sistemde ana kavram olan kaos üzerinden bir içerik analizi uygulanmıştır. Analizden elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda kavramsal kaos diyagramı adı altında bir araç oluşturularak belirlenen mimari örnekler yardımıyla betimsel bir durum çalışması yapılmıştır. Bulgular ve Tartışma bölümünde ise her bir yapı için ilişkiler şeması oluşturularak kaos-yapı ilişkisi irdelenmiştir. Sonuçlar ve Öneriler bölümünde ise, üretilen soyut araç yardımıyla kaos kavramının mimaride okunabilen bir kavram olduğu ve kaos-yapı ilişkisi bağlamında algıyı sürekli değiştiren ve dinamik tutan bir sürecin tanımlanabileceği ifade edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca kaos-yapı ilişkisi bağlamında gelecek çalışmalar için de önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Human being has always pursued new quests as a thinking and questioning being. New quests and inquiries have brought along contradictions, the contradictions have led to the developments and changes. The human being, who is in a constant state of flux, has been trying to define the architecture in different ways together with this state of flux. From this perspective, the dynamic and productive process in the architecture has led to the creation of new phenomena about how chaos can be expressed with the architecture. For this purpose, the study has been conducted to read the architecture through the concept of chaos and to express the chaos-structure relation. The study, conducted with the thought that the chaos will provide a new point of view to the understanding of the space that makes up the structure and the building, consists of four parts; General Information, Researches Conducted, Findings and Discussion, Conclusions and Suggestions. In the part of General Information, a general description of chaos has been made, and the purpose, the assumptions, the scope and the method of the study have been explained. In the part of Researches Conducted, a case study has been conducted to be appropriate for the main purpose of the thesis and a study system has been established, which is composed of four stages. In this system, a content analysis has been applied on the main concept of chaos. In line with the data obtained from the analysis, a tool under the name of conceptual chaos diagram has been created and a descriptive case study has been carried out with the aid of determined architectural examples. In the part of Findings and Discussion, a relation scheme has been created for each structure and the chaos-structure relation has been examined. In the part of Conclusions and Suggestions, it has been tried to express that the concept of chaos is a concept that can be read in the architecture with the help of the abstract tool produced and that a process that continuously changes the perception and keeps it dynamic can be defined in the context of chaos-structure relation. In addition, suggestions have been made for future studies in the context of chaos-structure relation.
