Bu çalışmada Haldun Taner'in oyunlarındaki mizahi özellikler incelenmektedir. Mizah, gülme ve komik arasındaki ilişkiden yola çıkılarak bu unsurların oyunlarda nasıl işlerlik kazandığı araştırılmıştır. Mizaha felsefi, sosyolojik ve psikolojik bakışın bir sonucu olarak geliştirilen mizah teorileri, çalışmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturmuştur. Bunun yanı sıra mizahın oluşumuna kaynaklık eden ironi, parodi, hiciv, tekrar, karşıtlıklar, tersine çevirme ve abartı gibi temel tür ve tekniklerden faydalanılmıştır. Haldun Taner'in oyunlarındaki mizahi ögeleri ortaya çıkarma amacını taşıyan tezin birinci bölümünde, mizah kavramının anlaşılır kılınması açısından konuyla ilişkili terim ve kavramlar açıklanarak mizah teorilerini de içeren bir kuramsal çerçeve oluşturulmuştur. İkinci bölümde ise, yazarın mizah anlayışını besleyen kaynaklardan söz edilerek, kabare oyunları dışında yer alan on iki oyunundaki mizahi ögelerin neler olabileceği sorusunun cevabı aranmıştır. Tezin, mizah kavramını ciddiye alarak teorinin uygulamaya döküldüğü bir çalışma niteliğinde olması amaçlanmıştır.
In this study Haldun Taner's plays are examined in terms of their humorous specifications. We examined how these specifications are functioned in the plays considering the relationship between humors, laughing and comic. This origin of the study is based on the humorous theories which are devised from philosophical, sociological and psychological the point of views. In addition to this, genres and techniques which can be evaluated as the basic sources for humor such as irony, satire, parody, repetition, oppositions, inversion and extravagation are used in the study. In the first chapter of this thesis of which aim is to clarify humorous elements in Haldun Taner's plays, we tried to describe a theoretical frame by explaining related terms and notions about humors. In the second chapter we searched the answer for the question what the humorous elements in the playwright's twelve plays except from the cabaret plays are by mentioning the playwright's humorous sources. The aim of the thesis is to make a study in which the theory is put into practice by taking the concept of humor into consideration.
