ÖZET "Haldun Taner'in Hikâyeleri ve Hikâyeciliği" adlı bu çalışma, iki ana başlıktan oluşmaktadır: İçerik ve biçim. Hikâyelerin temel sorunlarından yola çıkılarak oluşturulan "içerik" ile yazarın sanatçı kimliği hakkında bir yorum yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Haldun Taner'in Cumhuriyet Dönemi Türk Hikayeciliği içindeki yeri ve evrensel boyutlarlardaki değer; ile özelliği nedir? Sorularından yola çıkarak, onun sanatında başarılı oluşunun sebeplerini bütün çalışmamız boyunca bulmayı ve bir sonuca ulaşmayı amaçladık. Bunun için yazarın çok yönlü kişiliği, Batı kültüründen aldığı birikim ve eleştirel düşünce, yaşadığı dönem, sosyo-kültürel yapı ve edebiyatın yan dallarına müracaat edilmesinden bir salonca görülmemiştir. Tezimizin ikinci başlığım oluşturan "biçim" çalışması, yazarın hikâyelerinin gelişim çizgisini saptayabilmek için gerekliydi. Bu bölümde hikâye kurgusunu oluşturan öğeler, bakış açısı ve mizahi anlatan tutumu üzerinde durulmuştur. Ancak dil ve üslûp çalışmasının farklı bir araştırma alam olduğu düşünülerek o konuya değinilmemiştir. Çalışmamıza başlarken; "Haldun Taner edebiyatımızda en iyi hikâye yazarlarımızdan birisidir" görüşünden yola çıkılmıştır. Yaptığımız araştırmalar sonunda bu yargımızda yanılmadığımızı gördük. Bu çalışmanın çıkış, noktamızın bilimsel açıdan kanıtı olduğunu düşünüyoruz. Eseleri esas alarak yaptığımız incelemeler ve vardığımız sonuçlar bu kamu destekleyen unsurlardır.
11 SUMMARY This study titled as "The Stories of Haldun Taner and His Art of His Story" consists of two parts: content and form. With "the content" prepared by beginning from the basic conclusions of the stories, it has been tried to be done the interpretations about the artistic identification of the author. From the point of the question which is "What is the place of Haldun Taner in Turkish art of story of the Republic Period, and value and properties in the universal platform", we have desired to find the reasons of his success in the filed of art and to get a result. For that reason, there is no objection in referring to the multi-personality of the author, the background from Western Culture, criticized thought, the time in which he lived, socio-cultural structure and other branches of literature. The second part of the thesis which is "the form" was necessary to recognize the progress in the stories of the author. In this part, the elements that form the story fantasy, examining way and joking and explaining style have been considered. However, as being thought that language and style of writing studies are different, these subject have not been considered. When the study was started it was thought that "Haldun Taner" is one of the best in the filed of story in our literature". At the end of the study we have seen that this idea is thoroughly true. We are considering that this study is the scientific proof of our starting point. The examining of his stories and the obtained results are the support of this proof.
