oz HİZMET ÖNCESİ INGIZCE ÖĞRETMENLİĞİ ADAYLARINA VERİLEN TEKNOLOJİ DERSİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ: BİR DURUM ÇALIŞMASI Özoğul, Gamze Yüksek Lisans, Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi: Y.Doç.Dr Soner YILDIRIM Temmuz,2002, 125 sayfa Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türk Öğretmen Yetiştirme Programlarında yapılan yeniden yapılandırma sonucunda, öğretmen eğitim programlarına eklenmiş olan, İngilizce Öğretmenliği bölümündeki öğrencilere de verilen teknoloji eğitimi dersini değerlendirmektir. Bu çalışmada dersin etkililiği dersi alan öğretmen adaylarının bakış açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Dersin etkililiği değerlendirilirken, öğretmen adaylarının bilgisyarlara karşı olan tutumlarındaki değişiklikler, algıladıkları yeterlilik düzeylerindeki değişmeler, dersin hedefleri, öğretim süreci konusundaki görüşleri ve dersin beklentilerini karşılma düzeyleri araştırılmıştır.Bunların yanında, öğrencilerin geleckte öğretmen olduklarında bu dersten kazandıkları bilgi ve becerileri kullanma konusundaki görüşleri de incelenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda öğrencilerin bilgisayara karşı tutumlarında ve de bilgisayara karşı olan algıladıkları yeterlilik düzeylerinde gelişmeler saptanmıştır. Öğrenciler genellikle bu dersi etkili olarak değerlendirmişlerdir. Dersin en faydalı olan özelliği olarak; bilgisayarları kullanarak basamak basamak ilerleyen öğretimi vurgulamışlardır. Bu olumlu özelliğin yanısıra öğrenciler, dersin sınama durumu, sınıfta yürütülen bölümü, ders materyalleri ve derse ayrılan zaman konusunda geliştirilmeye ihtiyacı olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Bilgisayar konusunda ileri düzeyde bilgi edinmek isteyen birkaç öğrencinin dışında, öğrenciler dersin beklentilerini karşıladığını belirtmiş, hatta pek çok öğrenci dersin beklenti düzeylerini aştığı vurgulamıştır. Dersin sonunda öğrencilerin büyük bir çoğunluğu ileri de öğretmen olduklarında, öğretim sürecinde bilgisayar kullanacaklarını belirtmişlerdir. ABSTRACT A QUALITATIVE ASSESMENT OF A TECHNOLOGY TRAINING COURSE OFFERED TO PRE-SERVICE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS: A CASE STUDY Özoğul, Gamze M. Prof. Dr. Soner YILDIRIM July, 2002, 125 pages The purpose of this research was to assess the effectiveness of a new technology training course offered to pre-service English Language teachers, which was included into the teacher training curriculum after the restructuring efforts at the Turkish Teacher Training Program. The study investigated the technology training courses' effectiveness from the students point of view that took the course. Thorough out the study the courses effectiveness was examined by exploring the changes at student teachers attitudes toward computers, self perceived computer competencies, their opinions on course objectives, their opinions on the teaching method of the course and satisfaction of their expectations. Additionally, the students opinions on how they will make use of the iiiskills and knowledge acquired during the course, at their future teaching career was explored by the study. The analysis of data obtained from student teachers revealed that the students attitudes toward computers and their self perceived computer competencies improved after the course. Students mainly evaluated the course as effective. Students stated the most beneficial feature of the course was, opportunity to use computers with stepwise instruction. However they mentioned that the course needed improvements at, type of examinations, classroom sessions, materials used in the course and time allocated to the course. Except few students who were expecting to attain advanced skills at computers, most of the students were satisfied with the course and majority of them stated that the course exceeded their expectations. After completing the course majority of the students stressed that they would use computers at instructional process when they become in-service teachers.
