Osmanlı Devleti'nden Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kuruluşu ve sonrasına kadar olan süre boyunca sanayi sektöründe yaşanan gelişmeler hayli ilgi uyandırıcıdır. Osmanlı'nın yükselme döneminde küçük sanayi işletmeleri ile başlayan bu ilerleme süreci, Tanzimat dönemi ile devlet teşvikiyle kurulan fabrikalar halini almıştır. Önceleri saray ve ordunun ihtiyaçları için yapılan sanayi üretimi, halkın talebine karşılık verir hale gelmiş, hatta dış pazara ihraç edilmiştir. Savaş sonrası Cumhuriyetin kurulması ile birlikte önceleri devlet, Türk sanayisinin gelişimi için gerekli kurumları organize etmiştir. Bu süre zarfında yapılan 1930 Sanayi Kongresi bunun en önemli kanıtlarından biridir. Kongre sonrasında devlet, aktif ve belirleyici olarak sanayi üretimi yapar hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışma, her üç dönemi de, ana hatları ve temel olayların anlatımını kronolojik bir şekilde vermeye çalışmıştır. The developments in industrial sector for the period from the Ottoman Empire to the establishment of The Republic of Turkey and for the next period are quite intruguing. In the Tanzimat period, this develeopment process starting with small industrial enterprises during the rise of the Ottoman Empire was tranformed into factories that established with the state's encouragement. At first, While industrial production was only made for meeting the needs of Palace and army, then it has began to respond to the demands of general population and it had even been exported. With the establishment of the Republic after the war, The State has organized the necessary institutions for the development of the Turkish industry. The Congress of Industry in 1930 held over this period is one of the most important evidences showing the efforts to organize. In this study, it has been tried to give to choronologically each of the three periods with their outlines and basic events .
