Bu çalışma şair Nâzım Hikmet' in hayatı, mizacı, edebî görüşleri ve şiirinin değerlendirilmesine hasredilmiş olup tez ağırlıklı olarak altı bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde şairin soyu ve aile çevresi ele alınmış, şairin nesebi ortaya koymuş, bu husustaki spekülasyonlara açıklık getirilmeye çalışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde, ağırlıklı olarak şairin hayatı ele alınmış, şiirlerinde hayat izleri aranmış ve Türkiye'den son kaçışına kadar teferruatlı bir hayat hikâyesi verilmek istenmiştir. Üçüncü bölüm ilki, "Mizacı ve Şahsiyeti", ikincisi "Çalışma Tarzı" adlarını: taşıyan iki kısımdan meydana gelmiştir. İlk kısımda, şairin mizacı ele alınmış, şahsiyetini veren unsurlar tespit edilmeye çalışılmış, çalışma tarzı üzerinde durulmuştur. Dördüncü bölümde şairin şiir ve sanat hakkındaki görüşleri tespit edilerek tasnife tabi tutulmuştur. Beşinci bölümde şiirinin dönemleri ve şiir kitapları tanıtılarak dergilerde yayımlanan şiirlerinin ve şiir kitaplarının künyeleri verilmiştir. Altıncı bölüm ise şiirinin incelenmesine hasredilmiştir. Bu bölümde şiirleri yapı, muhteva, dil ve anlatım başlıkları altında değerlendirilmiştir. Tez Sonuç ve Kaynaklar kısmı ile tamamlanmıştır.
This dissertation is concerned Nâzım Hikmet one of an important figure in 20th Century in Turkish poetry. He was born in Selanik in 1902 raised in Istanbul gone to Soviet Russia to see what was happening in 1921. He was trained as a communist militant in KUTV Communist University for Eastern Labours in Moscow for two years between 1921-1924. Then he served as an instructor for training young Turkish communist militants at the Communist University for Eastern Labours in Moscow from 1925 to 1928. He came back to Turkey in the end of 1928 and started to work for Resimli Ay literary cultural journal. He attacked to Abdiilhak Hamid one of the greatest figure of Turkish literature of the late 19 Century and Mehmed Emin Yurdakul the national poet of Turkey and some others intending to get fame and a place Turkish Literature and Public. He started to publish his poetry in journals as well as in book form. He had some struggle with the low because of acting as a secretary secret communist party. Then he was caused lead Turkish Navy riot against to Turkish Government. He fined to 28 years. He was in prison he escaped to Soviet Russia according to decision Communist Party. He lived there until his death in 1963. The primary subject matter of this thesis is the life, disposition literary point of view and evaluation of his poetry. His life and poetical works take place in this dissertation as a subject matter. This dissertation consists of a "Preface", the dissertation itself and a bibliography. In the preface, I discussed briefly the problem of main works on Nâzım Hikmet. In the first part of this dissertation I dealt with the poet's lineage, ancestors, and family. I tried to make clear speculations about hisVI genealogy. In the second part of the body of dissertation deals with the poet's life from his birth to escape from Turkey to Soviet Union and his death. I tried to make his detailed biography. In the third part of this dissertation I firstly dealt with the poet's disposition and personality, secondly working attitude. In the forth party of this dissertation I tried to classify the poets opinions, and points of views about art, literature, and poetry in general. In the fifth part of this dissertation I put the periods of his poetry and to review his books and poems published in literary journals. In the sixth part of this dissertation is a critique of his poetry its subject matter, theme, forms, and use of language. The last part of this dissertation is proper the "Conclusion" and "Bibliography".
