Adalar (Ege) Denizi, coğrafî konumu nedeniyle Türkiye ve Yunanistan için hayatî önem arz etmektedir. Bu iki ülkenin Ege'nin tüm imkânlarından yararlanmak istemesi çok doğaldır. Bu bakımdan Türk-Yunan ilişkilerinde, odaklanılan en hayati konu Adalar (Ege) Denizi ve buradaki adalar konuları oluşturmakta ve Adalar (Ege) Denizi ile adaları Türk-Yunan ilişkilerinde anlaşmazlıkların başlıca konusunu teşkil etmektedir. Adalar (Ege) Denizi temelli sıcak konular; egemenliği devredilmemiş ada, adacık ve kayalıkların kime ait olduğu, adaların askersizleştirilmesi ve silahsızlandırılması, kıta sahanlığı, karasuları, hava sahası ve FIR hattı sorunlarıdır.
Adalar (Ege) Denizi'nin Jeopolitik Özellikleri başlıklı Yüksek Lisans Tez çalışması giriş ve sonuç hariç üç bölüm olarak ele alınmıştır. Birinci bölümde Adalar (Ege) Denizi'nin coğrafi ve jeopoloitik konumu, oluşumu ve başlıca adalar belirtilmiştir. İkinci bölümde adalar denizi'nin jeopolitik özelliklerini şekillendiren tarihi arka plan ve hukuki yaklaşımlar açıklanmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise adalar denizinin sıcak jeopolitik konuları ve siyasi yaklaşımlar ortaya konulmuştur. Sonuç kısmında ise jeopolitik bakımdan oldukça önemli olan Adalar (Ege) Denizinde her iki ülke için barış ve güven ortamının sağlanması için değerlendirmeler ve teklifler belirtilmiştir.

Geographical location of Turkey, human and economic characteristics, power supply, physical structure are available. Fulfill the requirements of the era of globalization has been involved in the organization of a regional and global power. Energy sources and pipe lines, water issues, cultural diversity and identity conflicts, regional differences, agriculture pains transition to society to information and industrial society, changing values, conflicts in the region, new media, civil society organizations, but that the discussions on hot topics such as international funds where they were placed in the solution. As a result, it is highlighted that Turkey is in the process of becoming a regional power.
This master thesis entitled Geopolıtıcal Characterıstıcs of Sea Islands is occurs three parts except inputs and results. In the first part of Turkey's geopolitical power has been demonstrated. Here expressing values geopolitical events and natural features are indicated by considering the degree of population, economics characteristics. The second part, the effects of globalization and to Turkey under the globalized world and Turkey were evaluated. This section also describes the global and regional power centers. In the third chapter analyzed the hot issues of concern to Turkey. These are mainly in the energy sources, transmission pipe lines, transboundary waters, social media, nongoverment organisations, changing values and approaches are described and analyzed. At the conclusion of the geopolitical position of Turkey's regional and global as criterias have evaluated. However, there is also a result-assessment made in dealing with future perspectives.
