Osmanlı'da Tanzimat'ın ilanının ardından başlatılan reform süreci pek çok alanı olduğu gibi ilmi çalışmaları da etkilemiştir. Kur'ân ve tefsir ilimlerinde geleneksel yöntemlerin devam etmesinin yanı sıra ilk Türkçe Kur'ân tercümesinin basımı gibi icraatlar yeni tercümelerin yazılmasına zemin hazırlamıştır. Bu çalışmada dönemin önemli şahsiyetlerinden Ahmet Cevdet Paşa'nın tercüme ve tefsir faaliyetleri araştırılarak Tercüme-i Şerife isimli eserin Cevdet Paşa'ya ait olduğunun ispatı yapılmaktadır. İlim dünyasının haberdar olmadığı bu eserin tanıtımı yapılarak tefsir ilmi bakımından özellikleri incelenmektedir. Çalışmada tarihsel ve tanımlayıcı bir yöntemle birlikte eserin tespitinde mukayese metodu takip edilmiştir. Üç bölümden oluşan çalışmanın ilk bölümünde Ahmet Cevdet Paşa'nın hayatı ve eserleri özlü bir biçimde anlatılarak tefsir ilmine konu olan çalışmaları ayrıca değerlendirilmiştir. İkinci bölümde Tercüme-i Şerife isimli eserin Ahmet Cevdet Paşa'ya nispeti elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda değerlendirilmektedir. Eserin şekil, muhteva, kaynak, dil özellikleri, tefsir metodu ve ulûmu'l-Kur'ân'a ilişkin hususiyetleri incelenmiştir. Çalışmamızın üçüncü bölümünde Tercüme-i Şerife'nin transkripsiyonu yapılarak Osmanlıca metni ve müellif nüshasıyla birlikte aktarılmaktadır. Araştırmamızın sonunda Tercüme-i Şerife adlı Kur'ân tercüme ve tefsiri üzerinde yapılan değerlendirmeler doğrultusunda eserin Ahmet Cevdet Paşa'ya ait olduğu ispatlanmıştır. Period of reform that starts with announcement of Tanzimat (Reorganization) affected scientific studies alongside so many areas. Alongside continuation of traditional methods in the field of the Qur'an and Interpretation of the Qur'an, activities such as printing of first Turkish translation of Kur'ân lead up to write new translations. In this study, activities of translation and interpretation of Ahmet Cevdet Pasha who is the important person for Tanzimat era are being researched and it is being proved that book of translation and interpretation of the Qur'an named Tercume-i Serife belongs to Ahmet Cevdet Pasha. This book, which is not known in the world of academics so far was introduced and also its features are analyzed from the point of interpretative studies. In the study, method of comparison is applied for the determination of the work with historical and descriptive methods. The first part of the study consists of three parts, the life and works of Ahmet Cevdet Pasha is briefly studied and his works on science of interpretation were evaluated. In the second part, relation of the book named Tercume-i Serife to the Ahmet Cevdet Pasha was evaluated according to data that is attained from primary sources. Form, content, source, language features, interpretation method and their characteristic related with ulûmu'l-Qur'ân were broadly evaluated. The final part of the study consists of the transliteration of the Tercume-i Serife with Ottoman Turkish text and the original author's book. At the end of our study, in the direction of evaluations on translation and interpretation of the Qur'an named Tercume-i Serife, it is proved as a conclusion that the book belongs to Ahmet Cevdet Pasha.
