Bu çalışma Patrick Modiano'nun Goncourt Ödülü'nü aldığı Karanlık Mağazalar Sokağı adlı romanının Gérard Genette, Tzvetan Todorov ve Claude Bremond tarafından geliştilen anlatıbilim metoduna göre incelemeyi hedefler. Çözümlememizi romanın kahramanı Guy Roland üzerine yoğunlaştırarak, modern anlamdaki bir polisiye romanın, özellikle gizem romanının, anlatı tekniklerini ortaya çıkarmayı istiyoruz. Bu araştırmanın amacı polisiye romanın ikili yapısına göre metni iki kısma ayırarak, anlatıcıyı, zamansal ve uzamsal çerçeveleri belirlemektir. Çalışma polisiye romanın doğuşundan itibaren tarihini ve modern anlamdaki gizem romanının farkını belirleyebilmek için bu türün alt bölümlerini ana çizgileriyle belirlemeyi amaçlar. Metnin yapısının dışında, kahramanın roman boyunca sürdürdüğü soruşturmanın kanonik yapısı bu çalışmada incelenecektir. Soruşturmanın zincirini ortaya koyarak, kimlik arayışını yönlendiren ana faktörler ve sebepler ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılacaktır. Anlatıcı, zamansal ve uzamsal çerçeveleri içeren analizler romanın yapısını ve anlatı yöntemlerini belirlememize olanak sağlayacaktır. This study aims to analyze the novel, The Street of Dark Shops with which Patrick Modiano received the Prix Goncourt, by the narratological method developed by Gérard Genette, Tzvetan Todorov and Claude Bremond. We try to demonstrate the narrative processes of the modern detective novel, more precisely a mystery novel, centering our analysis on the course of the novel's hero, Guy Roland. The purpose of the study is to define the narrator, the spatial and temporal settings by dividing the story into two pieces according to the dual structure of the detective novel. The work aims to sketch the history of the detective novel since its birth and its subtypes to distinguish it from the modern mystery novel. Besides the structure of the narrative, the canonical structure of the investigation that the hero of the novel leads throughout the novel will be studied in this work. By showing the chain of the investigation, we intend to point out the causes and the factors that channel the quest for identity. These analyses concerning the narrator, the space and the time will allow us to define the structure and narrative processes of the novel.
