Bu çalışmadaki amaç, Abana şehrinin sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik gelişim seyrinin gösterilmesidir. Bu gelişmeye etki eden faktörler ile şehrin gelişimi ve bugünkü durumu ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Tezde şehrin yapısına uygun çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur.Bu çalışma Abana şehrini kapsamaktadır. Şehrin kuruluş yeriyle ilgili fiziki özellikleri, iklimi, tarihçesi, nüfus ve yerleşme özellikleri, yerleşmenin tarihi gelişimi ve günümüzdeki durumu anlatılmaktadır. Şehrin iktisadi, idari, sağlık, ulaşım, sosyal ve kültürel fonksiyonları ve bu fonksiyonların alansal dağılışı geçmişten günümüze doğru ele alınmıştır.Tez hazırlanırken bilgi alma konusunda, konu ile ilgili kaynaklar incelenmiş ve araştırma sahasında çalışma yapılmıştır. Çalışmada imar planı ve hali hazır haritalardan, TÜİK, Meteoroloji İşleri Genel Müdürlüğü, Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü gibi kuruluşların verilerinden yararlanılmış ve yorumlar belirtilmiştir.
The purpose of the study is to underline the development of Abana in terms of social, economic and cultural dimensions. The study focuses on the factors which have had a huge influence on the development of the city.In this dissertation, some practical suggestions are also made in accordance with the current state of the city.This study covers the city of Abana. It focuses on the physical characteristics of the site that the city was once built, the climate, the history, the population and the features of the settlement, the historical development of the settlement, and the current situation. A wide range of aspects of the city such as commerce, administration, healthcare, transportation, socio-cultural functions along with the territorial scattering of these functions has been dealt with from the past to the present.Preparing the dissertation, a number of reference books related to the subject were examined and a fieldwork has been done. In the study, we made use of the development plan and the existing maps as well as data and comments provided by TUIK, Meteorology General Directorate, Roads General Directorate.
