Bu çalismada, 19. yüzyil Osmanli Devleti'nin Aydin Vilayeti'ninSaruhan Sancagi'na bagli Gördes Kazasi'nin sosyal ve ekonomik yapisi,Osmanli Arsivi kaynaklari 'na dayanilarak incelenmistir.Ele aldigimiz bölgenin 19. yüzyil ortalarindaki nüfus, üretim yapisi,isletmelerin nitelikleri, gelirin kaynaklari, tarimsal verimlilik ve vergiler gibiekonomik ve sosyal hayatin temel alanlariyla ilgili ayrintili sayisal bilgilerüretilmeye çalisilmistir. Bu çalisma, Gördes Kazasi'nin sosyal ve ekonomikyapi degerlendirmesi niteligi tasimaktadir
In this study socio-economic structure of Gördes town of Saruhanprovince of Aydin state of the Ottoman Empire is examined in various aspectsbased on the Ottoman archives.Detailed and quantitative information has been tried to be providedconcerning the basic areas of economic and social life such as population,structure of production, attributes of enterprises, sources of income,agricultural productivity and taxes of the considered region in the middle of the19th century. The study is a contrastive economic and social structureevaluation of Gördes town.
