Bu tezin amacı Patrick Süskind'in ?Koku? romanını postmodernedebiyat bağlamında incelemektir. Fakat incelemeye baslamadanönce modernizm ve postmodernizm kavramlarının altıdoldurulacaktır.Modernizm dönemi, köklerini aldığı aydınlanmadan itibaren elealınacaktır. Çalısma içerisinde bu dönemde olusturulantoplumsal projeler ve ulasılmak istenen hedeflersıralanacaktır. Ardından ussun merkeze konmasından kaynaklıortaya çıkan sorun ve çeliskiler üzerinde durulacaktır.Modernizmin kısa bir elestirisi sunduktan sonra, modernizminbittiğini ve `modern sonrası' bir dönemin, yani postmodern birdönemin basladığını iddia postmodernizm savunucularınına yerverilecektir. Ortak bir teoride uzlasamayan Lyotard,Baudrillard ve Foucault'in günümüz kosullarını nasılyorumladıkları dile getirilecektir. Postmodernizmin mimari veedebiyat alanındaki yenilikler genel hatlarıylatanıtılacaktır. Postmodern bir roman olarak değerlendirilenPatrick Süskind'in ?Koku? adlı romanı, tasıdığı postmodernözellikler açısından incelenecektir. Romancının kısa birözgeçmisinin ardından romandaki postmodern özelliklerörnekleriyle beraber gösterilecek ve ?Koku? romanının neölçüde postmodern bir yapıt olarak değerlendirilebileceğisorusu yanıtlanmaya çalısılacaktır.
In this work I?ll try to explain the concepts of modernism andpostmodernism in relation to its causals and consequences. Themodernism period is scrutinized from Renaissance toclarification, where there roots are be. In this work thesocial projects of modernism and whose targets are arranged. Ihave emphasized the problems and contradictions of modernismand then follow a criticism of the modernism. After that intook place for postmodern defenders who affirmed that themodern period is finished and that the post modern period hasbegun. Then I?ll be informing you about theoreticer likeDerrida, Lyotard and Foucault, how they interpret theconditions of today and about their affirmations in differentplatforms. The postmodern novel `The Perfume? of PatrickSüskind will be scanned, which shows post moderncharacteristics. For this I presented knowledge aboutSüskinds biography. Then I have written a summary of thenovel. Later I have picked up the postmodern elements in thenovel. I have expressed the postmodern innovations inliterature and those methods. I will explain the dimensionsof postmodernism in `The Perfume? and try to answer thequestion, how far the novel a work of post modernism is.
