Tezin Adı: Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin Romanlarında Kadınlar Hazırlayan: Ayşe Nur Özdemir ÖZET Bu çalışma Tanzimat dönemi Türk edebiyatının önemli isimlerinden biri olan Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin romanlarındaki kadın kahramanları incelemeyi esas alır. Çalışma "Giriş", "Sonuç" ve "Kaynakça" dışında iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. "Giriş"te Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin kadına bakışını yansıtan çalışmalar tanıtılmıştır. "Birinci Bölüm"de hem dünyada hem de Türkiye'de kadın kavramı ve hareketinin gelişimi dikkate alındıktan sonra Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin kadınları nasıl kavradığı tartışılmıştır. "İkinci Bölüm"de romanlar incelenerek kadının bireysel ve toplumsal yaşantısı, içinde bulunduğu dönemin koşulları açısından sergilenmeye çalışılmıştır. "Sonuç"ta çalışma boyunca elde edilen bulgular ortaya konulmuştur. "Kaynakça"da ise araştırmamıza esas aldığımız romanlar ve çalışma boyunca yararlanılan kaynaklar gösterilmiştir. Name of Thesis: Women In The Novels Of Ahmet Mithat Efendi Prepared by: Ayşe Nur Özdemir ABSTRACT This study aims to investigate the women characters in Ahmet Mithat Efendi's novels, one of the most prominent figures in the Turkish literature of the period of Tanzimat. The study consisting of two main chapters, as well as the chapters, namely "Introduction", "Conclusion" and "References", discusses respectively those issues: the "Introduction" chapter presents Ahmet Mithat Efendi's works which reflect his view of women. In the "First Chapter", after taking into consideration the concept of women and the development of women's movements both in the world and in Turkey, the question that how Ahmet Mithat Efendi conceived women is discussed. In the "Second Chapter", the personal and social life of women are demonstrated within the historical conditions of the period by examining Ahmet Mithat Efendi's novels. The "Conclusion" chapter displays the findings obtained from the research and the "References" include the novels on which this thesis based and the secondary resources we used.
