Alaeddin es- Semerkandi Orta Asyada doğup, Anadoluda vefat eden müfessirlerdendir. ?Bahru'l- Ulum? adlı eseri elyazma olup, daha önce çalışılmamıştır. Eserinde fasih ibarelerle faydalı bilgilere yer vermektedir. Alaeddin es- Semerkandi'nin ?Bahru'l- Ulum?unu ele alıp incelemek ve tanıtmak amacıyla bu tezi hazırladık.Bu çalışma giriş ve üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında araştırmanın amacı ve önemiyle birlikte Alaeddin es- Semerkandi'nin hayatı ve eserlerine dair bilgilere yer verilmiştir.Birinci bölümde Bahru'l- Ulum'un Hadis, Tefsir, Kelam Fıkıh, Kıraat ve Dilbilimi kaynakları tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.İkinci bölümde geleneksel bilimler bağlamında Bahru'l- Ulum ele alınarak Tasavvuf, Felsefe, Kıraat ve Dilbilimine ait bilgiler değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.Üçüncü bölümde ise Kur'an İlimleri bağlamında Alaeddin es- Semerkandi'nin Mühkem ve Müteşabih, Nasih- Mensuh, İ'cazu'l- Kur'an ve Esbabun- Nüzule ait görüşlerine yer verilmiştir.Sonuç kısmında da Bahru'l- Ulum hakkında genel bir değerlendirme yapılarak elde edilen sonuçlar açıklanmıştır.
`Al? al-D?n al-Samarqand? is one of the Qur?an commentators born in Middle Asia and died in Anatolia. His commentary, Bahr al-`Ul?m, still in manuscript form, has never been studied. There are noteworthy explanations and useful information in his commentary. This thesis aims at introducing this work and examining its discussions.My thesis consists of an introduction and three chapters. In the Introduction I outline the purpose and importance of this study and give brief information about the life and works of al-Samarqand?.In the first chapter I investigate the sources of Bahr al-`Ul?m with regards to the fields of Prophetic Traditions (had?th), Qur?anic Exegesis (tafs?r), Islamic Theology (kal?m), Islamic Jurisprudence (fiqh), Qur?anic Recitation (qir???t) and linguistics.In the second chapter I analyze Bahr al-`Ul?m with a special focus on its passages in relation to Sufism, Islamic Philosophy, and to other traditional Islamic scholarly disciplines.In the third chapter I concentrate on Samarqand??s discussions with respect to Qur?anic sciences including the clear (muhkam) and unclear (mutash?bih) passages of the Qur?an, its abrogating (n?sikh) and abrogated (mans?kh) statements, its inimitable nature (i`j?z), and to its occasions of revelation (asb?b al-nuz?l).In the Conclusion, I present a general discussion on Bahr al-`Ul?m and contextualize my own conclusions.
