Lojistik sektörü, küreselleşme kavramı ile birlikte bünyesine yeni organizasyonlar katarak günden güne gelişimini sürdürmektedir. Nitekim artık küresel ticari faaliyetler içerisinde şirketler ve ülkeler lojistik sağlayıcıların hızlı, ekonomik, kaliteli ve güvenilir bir şekilde hizmet vermelerini beklemektedirler. Bu yüzden söz konusu organizasyonlardan bir tanesi ve belki de en önemlisi olan "Lojistik Üs/Köy" kavramı ortaya çıkmıştır. Dünya'da ithalat ve ihracat rakamları bakımından en zengin ve en gelişmiş ülkelerde etkili lojistik köylere rastlamak mümkün olmaktadır. Lojistik sektörü bakımından gelişmiş olan ülkeler incelendiğinde, lojistik faaliyetler bazında geçiş veya transit ülke sıfatı taşımaktan daha çok tüm lojistik faaliyetleri bünyesinde barındıran lojistik temelli ülkeler sıfatı taşıdıklarını görmekteyiz. Bu nedenle, 2023 yılı hedefleri arasında 500 milyar dolar ihracat hedefi ile yola koyulan Türkiye, söz konusu organizasyon yapılarına ivedilikle kavuşmalıdır. Ülkemizde özellikle TCDD tarafından bu yönde atılan adımlara ve somut verilere çalışma içerisinde ayrıntısıyla yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca Küresel Lojistik Performans Endeksi doğrultusunda, Türk lojistik köylerinin Türkiye ekonomisi üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır.
The logistics sector continues its development day by day by adding new organizations to its structure together with concept of globalization. As a matter of fact, companies and countries expect the logistics providers to provide fast, economic, quality and reliable services in global commercial activities. For this reason, the concept of logistics base, which is the most important one of these organizations emerged. In terms of import and export figures in the world, it's possible to find high-level logistics villages inte richest and most developed countries. When the countries developed in terms of logistics sector are examined, we see that they carry the role of logistics based countries which have all logistical activities rather than carrying the title of transit country on the basis of logistics activities. Therefore, located between the year of 2023 export target of $500 billion, Turkey should immediately become the logistics base structure. In our country, especially the steps tahen in this directions by the state railways and concrete data are given in detail in the study. In addition, the effects of the logistics villages on the Turkish economy have been investigated in accordance with the result of the GLobal Logistics Performance Index.
