Tez de sol ideolojinin etkin olarak toplumsal hayatı şekillendirdiği 1960-1980 yılları arasında yaratmaya çalıştığı insan tipi, roman kahramanları yardımıyla analiz edebilmektedir. Bir sanat dalı olan edebiyatın, özelde ise romanın farklı görüşler olsa da Marksist anlayışı temel alan kuramsal çalışmalarda siyasal ve toplumsal dönüştürücü ve ifşa edici özelliği kabul edilmektedir. Bu tez özellikle ideolojilerin görünmeyenini ifşa etme niteliği kabul edildiğinde söz konusu ideolojilerin biçimlendirmeyi hedeflediği `insan?ı değiştirip dönüştürmekte ne denli başarılı olduğunun roman kahramanları üzerinden analiz edebilmenin mümkün olduğu savından hareket etmektedir.
