Türkiye'de Altın Bankacılığı, hizmetleri ve ürünleri ile ilgili pek çok değerli çalışma yapılmıştır. Yüzyıllardır devam eden, hem dünya hem de Türkiye'de, altının ekonomideki yeri ve fiyat duyarlılığı son yıllarda daha hissedilir ve etkin bir hale gelmiştir. Diğer taraftan altının bir kıt kaynak olduğunu kabul ederek, özellikle son yıllarda, sadece Türkiye'de altın bankacılığı hizmetleri sayesinde bankalarda toplanarak, kayıtlı ekonomiye katkı sağlayan, âtıl altının miktar ve fonksiyonlarının incelenmesi gerekliliği doğmuştur. İlk defa, bu tez çalışması ile; "Altın Bankacığının Âtıl Altını Ekonomiye Kazandırmadaki Rolü" anket çalışması ve ekonometrik analiz ile incelenmiştir. Analizlerde çıkan sonuçlar İktisat Teorileri ışığında açıklanmıştır. Altının arz edilmesi ile ilgili zorluklardan dolayı kıt kaynak olarak görülmesi, özellikleri ve değerini hiç bir koşulda kaybetmediği için her zaman ekonomilerde güvenli liman olarak görülmesi nedeni ile bu çok kıymetli ekonomik varlığın , yastık altında bekletilmeyip, hem ekonomiye hem de tasarruf sahiplerine ekstra bir katkı sağlaması hedeflenmektedir. Sonuç olarak, çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda, altın bankacılığının âtıl altını ekonomiye kazandırmada etkili ve önemli bir rolü olduğu, bu faaliyeti sürdürebilmesi için izlenen devlet politikalarının bankaları ve altın tasarruf sahiplerini, âtıl altınını bankalarda değerlendirmeleri için daha fazla teşvik edici yönde geliştirmesi gerektiği görülmüştür.
In Turkey, Gold Banking has been set forth many valuable works with regard to its mission and products. Along with the centuries, the place of gold in economy and the price sensitivity has been more perceived and has become more active both in Turkey and in the world. On the other hand, especially during the recent years, it has been needed to arise to analyze the amount and the function of the idle gold which is assembled in banks and make a significant contribution to the formal economy only with the help of the gold banking service in Turkey, acknowledging that gold is a scarce source. For the first time, with this thesis study, " The Role of Gold Banking in Bringing in Idle Gold to Economy" is reviewed with the survey study and econometric analysis. The result of the analysis are explained in the light of Economic Theories. Due to the fact that gold is a scarce source since the supply of gold has some difficulties, and it retains its value and qualities in any circumstances so it is always considered as a safe port in economy, it is aimed that this economic entity should not be waited under the mattress & pillow rather, it should contribute more both to economy and the saver. As a consequence, with the light of the results of the study, it is deduced that gold banking has a vital and prominent role in bringing in idle gold to economy,recycling. Furthermore, in order to carry on this activity, the current government policy is required to be improved in a more incentive way so that banks and the savers assess the idle gold in the banks efficiently.
