ÖZET Almaz, Hasan, "Behcetü't-Tevârîh ^^nceleme-Metin.TercümeY,. Doktora Tezi, Danışman: Prof.Dr.Mürsel Öztürk, XXVÜ+417+VI+401s. Bu çalışma, 1409 yılında Osmanlı hizmetine girmiş Fetret devrinin sonu ile I. Mehmed, n. Murad ve Fatih Sultan Mehmed devirlerinde yaşamış özellikle DL Murad döneminde dikkat çekmiş, padişahın teveccühünü kazanmış ve padişah tarafından değişik görevlere atanmış olan Şükrullah b. Şihâbeddîn Ahmed b. Zeyneddîn Zekî'nin Behcetü't-Tevârîh adlı eserinin incelenmesi, tenkitli metnini, tercüme ve indeksim içermektedir. Bu çalışma, aynı zamanda Türk adının tarih sahnesine çıkışını, Türk tarih ve medeniyetinin dünya tarihindeki yeri ve önemini de konu edinmektedir. Bir Giriş ve iki bölümden meydana gelmiş olan bu çalışmanın inceleme kısmında giriş bölümü, Osmanlı dönemi ilk tarih çalışmalarını ve yapılan çalışmaların kısa bir tanıtımını içermektedir. Birinci bölümde, yazarın hayatı, eğitim ve öğrenim durumu, kişiliği, tarihçiliği ve eserleri üzerinde durulmuştur. İkinci bölümde, Behcetü^t-Tevârîh'in yazılışı, içeriği, dil ve üslup özellikleri, mevcut bulunan yazma nüshaları, eserin tarihi değeri, metnin hazırlanışında izlenen yol, eser üzerinde daha önce yapılmış çalışmalar incelenmiştir. İnceleme kısmından sonra eserin tenkitli metni ve Türkçe tercümesi verilmiş, metinlerin sonunda da eserde geçen kişi, kavim, yer ve eser adları indeksi düzenlenmiştir. XXIVŞükrullah'ın Behcetü't-Tevârîh adlı eseri, insanlığın yaratılışından 855/1451 yılana kadarki olayları konu alan bir genel dünya tarihidir. Her ne kadar bir genel tarih eseri olarak yazılmışsa da daha çok bir İslam tarihi olarak değerlendirmek daha doğrudur Bununla beraber, Behcetü't-Tevârîh, yalnız bir tarih değil aynı zamanda tabii tarih, coğrafya, etnografya, kozmoğrafya, astronomi ve din kitabı olarak da değerlendirilmelidir. Eser, çok geniş bir tarih sürecini kapsamasına rağmen oldukça kısadır ve çoğunlukla hükümdarların listeleri, tahta çıkış ve ölüm tarihleri ile saltanat sürelerinden ibarettir. Şükrullah'ın eserinde Osmanlı padişahlarını konu edindiği son bölüm, dönemi yaşayan biri olarak anlatması açısından önemlidir. XXV

This study provides an evaluation and a critical review as well as the translation and the index of Bahcat al-Tavarih which is a well-known work of Sukr Allah b. Shihab al-din Ahmed b. Zeyneddin Zeki who had entered into service of Ottoman Empire in 1409 and lived during Fetret era and at the time of Mehmet I, Murat II and Fatih Sultan Mehmet. Especially in the Murat II era, he had become known and gained the appraisal of the Sultan and served in different posts at the time of the Sultan Murat n. This study also points out the importance of the existence of the Turks on the history scene and the place of Turkish history and its civilization in the world history. This study is composed of an introduction part and two chapters. In its evaluation part, introduction includes the first historical studies in Ottoman era and a short presentation of these studies. In the first chapter, focus is directed upon the author's life, education, personality, his historician character, and studies. In the second chapter, the writing process of Bahcat al-Tavarih, its content, language and style properties, existing copies, its historical value, the method followed in its preparation phase, and other studies related with the Bahcat al- Tavarih are examined. XXVIFollowing the examination part, the critical review and the Turkish translation of the text are presented. At the end of the study, an index including the names of persons, nations, places and the other studies referred within the study are placed. Sukr Allah's Bahcat al-Tavarih is a 13 chapter general world history which is starting from the creation of the men until the events in 855/1451. Although it was written as a general world history book, it is more appropriate to evaluate Bahcat al- Tavarih as an Islamic History book. In addition, not only as a history book, Bahcat al-Tavarih should be considered as natural history, geography, ethnography, cosmography, astronomy and a religious book. While Bahcat al-Tavarih covers a very long historical period in its content, it is rather short in its context, mostly composing of only the list of the names of the Sultans and their ruling periods. The last part dedicated to the Ottoman Sultans is of special importance since the author visualizes and expresses the era as a person lived in that period. XXVII
