Bu çalışmanın temel ilgisi anlatılar ve anlatıların analizi üzerinedir. Bu bakımdan öncelikle, geleneksel anlatı teorisinin kurucu metinleri yorumlayıcı bir perspektif ile yeniden okunmuş ve daha sonra da kurucu metinlerin teorik mirasının yapısalcı anlatı çalışmaları geleneğince nasıl bir dönüşüme tabi tutulduğu incelenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, özellikle Fransız yapısalcılarının mit ve göstergebilim çalışmaları incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde son olarak tür kavramı üzerinde durulmuş ve fantastik türe ilişkin tarihsel perspektif sunulmuştur. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde ise, televizyon metinlerinin özgül karakterini kavramada yol gösterecek temel görüşler değerlendirilmiş ve bu şekilde bir televizyon metni yapısalcı perspektiften incelenmiştir.
Basis of this study is on the narratives and the analysis of narratives. In this regard, firstly, the founder texts of the traditional theory of narrative have examined in this thesis. Then, have examined the French structuralists thoughts on founding texts. In this direction, especially were examined the myth and semiotics studies of the French structuralists. Finally, focused on concept of genre and the historical perspective of the fantastic genre is presented in the end of the first part of the study, In the second part of the study, has focused on the specific character of the television texts. Thus, as television text example Lost has examined with the all-theoretical perspectives.
