Bu çalışmada Bulgaristan'da göç olgusu tüm boyutlarıyla ele alınmıştır. Bulgaristan göçü üzerine literatürde yer alan pek çok çalışmada milliyetçilik vurgusu yoğun bir şekilde hissedilmektedir. Bu nedenle ilk bölüm milliyetçilik ve azınlık tartışmalarına ayrılmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümü ise 1950-51 Bulgaristan göçünün kategorilendirilmesi ile ilgilidir. Bu bölümde söz konusu göç hareketinin ne tam zorunlu göç ne de gönüllü göç olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümü 1950-51 öncesi süreci, Osmanlı'dan bu yana Türk Bulgar ilişkilerini ve Bulgaristan'da Türk azınlığı sorununun tarihini vermektedir. 4. Bölümde göçün gerçekleştirildiği dönemde Türkiye'de hükümetin dış politikası anlatılmaktadır. Beşinci bölümde 1950-51 göçü süreci tüm boyutlarıyla ele alınmıştır. Son bölüm ise daha çok göçün ekonomik boyutu yani göçmenlerin yerleştirilmesi, göçmenlere yapılan yardımlar, göçmenlerin istihdamı gibi konularla ilgilidir.
In the present thesis the fact of migration is discussed in all aspects. So much literature, which has been produced over the Bulgarian migration, has a nationalist tendency. Thus, debates over nationalism has concerned in the first part of the thesis. Second part of the thesis is about categorization of migration from Bulgaria (1950-51). In this section concluded that the migration from Bulgaria neither ?forced migration? nor ?free will migration?. In the third part of the thesis, the relationship between Turkish and Bulgarian governments since the Ottoman Empire term has analyzed. Furthermore the history of Turkish minority question in Bulgaria has been given. Turkish foreign policy in the period of the migration is the subject of fourth part of the thesis. The process of the migration has been discussed in all aspects in the next part. And the last part is about economic aspects of the migration such as settlement, aids, employment policy.
