Bu çalışma, ameliyathane hemşirelerinin, ameliyathane hemşireliğine ilişkin eğitim gereksinimlerini belirlemek, hemşirelerin ve kurumun gereksinimleri ile cerrahi alandaki gelişmeleri bütünleyici, ameliyathane hemşireliği eğitim ve uygulamalarını yönlendirici, programlar geliştirilmesi, uygulanmasında rehberlik edebilecek öneriler getirmek amacı ile yapıldı.Araştırma, Haziran-Ağustos 2009 tarihlerinde, bir üniversite ve beş eğitim/araştırma hastanesi ameliyathanelerinde çalışan 194 hemşire ile yapıldı. Veriler, ilgili literatür doğrultusunda geliştirilen veri toplama formu ile elde edildi ve yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, ki-kare ve Fisher ki-kare testleri ile analiz edildi.Hemşirelerin %52,6'sı, temel hemşirelik eğitiminde alınan ameliyathane hemşireliği eğitiminin yetersiz olduğunu, %92,8'i ameliyathane hemşireliğine yönelik eğitime gereksinimi olduğunu, %78,4'ü hizmet içi eğitime (HİE) katıldığını, katılanların %71,6'sı, programın 0-5 gün süre ile gerçekleştirildiğini, %34,8'i programın tekrarlanmadığını belirtti. Hemşirelerin %48,5'i oryantasyon programına katıldığını, katılanların %60,6'sı programın 1-5 gün süre ile verildiğini, %35,1'i programın değerlendirilmediğini, %52,1'i programın tekrarlanmadığını belirtti. %55,7'sinin eğitim seminerlerine, %25,3'ünün sertifika programına katıldıkları, %40,1'i katıldıkları tüm eğitim programlarının beklentilerini kısmen karşıladığını ve %37'si karşılandığını belirtti. %66'sının çalıştıkları ameliyathane branşına özgü eğitim almadığı belirlendi. Branşa özgü eğitim alan hemşirelerin, branşa özgü eğitime gereksinimi anlamlı ölçüde yüksek bulundu. HİE alanlar ile almayanlar arasında eğitim gereksinimi ve HİE alma ile bu programın beklentilerini karşılama ilişkisi istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulundu.Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda; ameliyathane hemşireliğine yönelik eğitim gereksinimlerinin karşılanması için, hemşire akademisyenler ile işbirliği içinde, gereksinimlere yönelik yeni ve etkin eğitim programlarının geliştirilmesi, denetlenmesi, ve periyodik olarak tekrarlanması önerilmektedir.
The study was performed in order to present suggestions to guide in the application and development programmes to direct the training and applications of operating room nurses, to define the educational needs of operating room nurses related to operating room nursing, and to complete the developments in the field with the needs of organizations and nurses.The study was conducted with 194 nurses working in the operating rooms of one university hospital and five education/research hospitals between June-August, 2009. The data were accumulated with the data pooling form developed in the light of the literature by the researcher and analyzed with the tests of percentile, arithmetic average, chi-square and Fischer?s chi-square.Of all nurses participated in, 52.6% reported the training of operating room nursing given during basic nursing education to be unsatisfactory, 92.8% to be in the need of the training related to operating room nursing, 78.4% to have attended into in-service training (IST), and among those taking part in IST, 71.6% reported that IST was performed between 0-5 days, and 34.8% reported that IST was unrepeated. The rate of those reporting to attend orientation programmes was 48.5%, and among these, 60.6% pointed out that the program was arranged between 1-5 days, 35.1% stated that no evaluation was performed as to the program, and 52.1% stated the program to be unrepeated. It was determined that 55.7% attended seminars related to the training, and 25.3% to certificate programmes. Also, 40.1% reported all training programmes participated in to meet their needs in part, and 37% stated their needs to be met entirely via the programmes. It was also determined that 66% were administered no training related to the branch of operating room. The requirements for the training of the operating room field by the nurses trained in the field were found to be significantly high. The need between those with IST and without IST for the training, and the relationship between IST and the meeting of IST the expectations concerning the program were found to be significantly high.In the light of these findings, it is suggested that so as to meet the needs related to operating room nursing, innovative and effective programmes concerning the requirements should be developed, inspected and periodically repeated in cooperation with nurse academics.
