Antalya'nın 1865-1866 yılları arasında idari, ekonomik ve sosyo-kültürel durumunu incelediğimiz bu tezde temel kaynak XIV. Antalya şer'iyye sicili defteri olmuştur.Osmanlı yargı sistemi ve işleyişi hakkında önemli bir kaynak olan Şer'iyye sicilleri, Osmanlı toplumunun şehir yaşantısı ve düzeni, hakkında bilgiler vermektedir.XIX. yüzyılda değişen dünya düzenine karşı, her alanda büyük bir gerileme yaşayan Osmanlı İmparatorluğu içinde bulunduğu bu kötü durum ve koşulları düzeltmek adına bazı yeniliklere başvurmuştur.Şehircilik tarihinde önemli bir yeri olan şer'iyye sicilleri, XIX. yüzyılda değişen Osmanlı siyaseti ile birlikte Antalya'nın bundan nasıl etkilendiğini de ortaya koymaktadır. O dönemde kullanılan paralar, eşyalar, yerleşim yerleri ve kayda geçen her şey bu değişim sürecine örnek teşkil etmektedir. İktisadi hayatın bundan ne ölçüde etkilendiğini sicil kayıtlarındaki fiyatlardan anlamaktayız.
The main resource of the thesis, illuminating the administrative and socio-economic status of Antalya between 1865 and 1866, is the court records of Antalya.These court records are not only crucial in analyzing the judicial system of Ottoman Empire and its implementations, but also they give some significant information regarding the everyday life of society and social orders in the Ottoman Empire.While hte worl has been charging during the XIX. century, the Ottoman Empire had to face the losing power almost in every area. As a consequence, in order to evercome the situation, they applied some reforms.The court records, which are really essential in the history of urbanization, can explore the changing policy of the Ottoman Emperi in XIX. Century, as well as the records indicate how the policy of things, which were recorded in the court records, can be considered as evidence of the change. Moreover, how hte financial situation of the Ottoman Empire is affected by these changes can clearly be understood from the prices which were demonstrated in the court records.
