The rapid improvement and development of nanotechnology in recent years, make a big impression in the world of the science. With this effect, nanotechnology has been the focus of many scientist in the field. Nanotechnology has revealed new properties of materials at atomic and molecular scale, using lots of the basic sciences. Physical, chemical and biological properties of the nano scale materials are determined and controlled for multifunctional devices and systems within the scope of the nanotechnology. In other words, nanotechnology define as the creation and manipulation of the variety of tools, materials and structures at molecular level. There are four aspects to make nanotechnology a great new development. First, it revolutionizes the manufacturing process. Nanotechnology builds from the smallest number of atoms and molecules to make the biggest final product the bottom-up process. Nanotechnology can also reverse the process instead of starting with physical matter as it is found in nature, according to its own structures, by reducing it to the size of the objects to use as has been done until now the top-down process. Despite this road being familiar in chemical processes, the novelty is that, now, atoms and molecules can be directly manipulated to manufacture products. Second, at this nanoscale level, there are few differences between biotic matter and abiotic matter in that it is potentially possible to apply biological procedures to material processes or interfere with materials in living bodies, adapting the latter to certain purposes or offering certain advantages. It may also be possible to manipulate biological matter or procedures to perform specific tasks. One example would be a way of allowing the body to rest without sleep, which would be very useful in war and other activities that are very physically or mentally demanding. Third, nanoparticles may have physical and chemical properties (conductive, electric, mechanical, optical, etc.) which differ from the same elements on a macroscopic scale. By changing the physical properties of the matter, possibilities arise that surprise and excite scientists who are dedicated to this study. Many nanomaterials that are on sale offer great advantages in this way. For instance, carbon nanotubes are harder than diamonds and can be fifty to a hundred times stronger than steel. Finally, nanotechnology combines several kinds of technologies and sciences such as information technology, biotechnology and materials technology. The latter is not a lesser element if we consider that the true development of nanotechnology will require a totally new professional education which will require rethinking schooling, maybe from the primary level. Nanoparticles have one dimension that measures 100 nanometers or less. The properties of many conventional materials change when formed from nanoparticles. This is typically because nanoparticles have a greater surface area per weight than larger particles which causes them to be more reactive to some other molecules. The transition from microparticles to nano particles can lead to a number of changes in physical properties. Two of the major factors in this are the increase in the ratio of surface area to volume, and the size of the particle moving into the realm where quantum effects predominate. The increase in surface area to volume ratio, which is a gradual progression as the particle gets smaller, leads to an increasing dominance of the behaviour of atoms on the surface of a particle over that of those in the interior of the particle. This affects both the properties of the particle in isolation and its interaction with other materials. High surface area is a critical factor in the perfonmance of catalysis and structrures such as electrodes, allowing improvement in perfonmance of such technologies as fuel cells and batteries. The large surface area of nanoparticles also results in a olt of interactions between the intermixed materials in nanocomposites, leading to special properties such as increased strength and increased chemical resistance.Nano particles are formed by most of the elements in the periodic table and they can be classified according to the types of atoms of which they are composed and the nature of the bonding. Examples of nano particles include weakly bound rare gas and molecular nano particles, covalently bonded semiconductor nano particles, electrostatically bound ionic nano particles and nano particles of metallic elements. Metallic elements form a wide variety of nano particles, ranging from the s-block metals (such as the alkali and alkaline earth metals), p-block metals (such as aluminium where the bonding involves both the s and the p orbitals) and the transition metals (where the bonding also involves the valence d orbitals). Metal nano particles may be composed of a single metallic element or more than one metal the subclass of nanoalloys. The desire to fabricate materials with well-defined, controllable properties and structures, on the nanometre scale, coupled with the flexibility afforded by intermetallic materials, has generated interest in bimetallic and multimetallic nano particles. There are a large number of combinations ofmetallic elements and a wide range of elemental compositions which are possible for nano particles. Bimetallic nano particles can be generated with reasonably well-controlled size and composition. However, nano particles structures and the degree of elemental segregation or mixing can depend on the method and conditions of their generation. One of the major reasons for interest in nano patricles is because their chemical and physical properties can be tuned by varying the composition and atomic ordering, as well as the size and shape/morphology of the particles. Nano particles may display not only magic sizes, but also magic compositions at which they possess special stability. Surface structures, compositions and segregation properties of nano particles are also critically important in determining their chemical reactivity and, in particular, catalytic activity. Nano particles are also of interest as they sometimes display structures and properties which are distinct from those of the pure elemental clusters. For example, the structures of binary nano patricles may be quite different from those of pure metal nano particles of the same size and synergism is sometimes observed in catalysis by nano particles. Finite size effects can also be important for nano particles, giving rise to properties which are distinct from the corresponding bulk alloys. For example, there are examples of pairs of elements (such as iron and silver) which are immiscible in the bulk but which readily mix in finite clusters. Particle production methods can be devided into the two approaches. One of them these two approaches is bottom up and the other one is top down. Top-down approach is based on mechaical crushing for sizing materials to nano sized structures. High energy ball milling, electrodeposition and lithography are examples of top-down approach. On the other hand, bottom-up approach is based on physicochemical priciples to deposit atoms or molecules as nano scale structure. Sol-gel, inert gas condensation (IGC), sol-gel, flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) and spray pyrolysis (SP) are used methods in bottom-up approach. Ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) is a continuous ?ow process that operates at ambient pressure with involving four steps. The first step is aerosol generation in the untrasonic atomizer. Aerosols are obtained from aqueous solution of metal salts and transferred into the reaction furniture. Then, shrinkage of the aerosol droplets comes due to the evaporation. Next step is the chemical reaction in the furnace. Final step is the formation of solid particle. Moreover, this method allow to produce spherical, homogenous, non-agglomerated particles. Zinc oxide (ZnO) is one of the wide band gap semiconductors having a value of band gap (3.37 eV) and exciton binding energy (60 meV). The nanosized ZnO is used in many optoelectronic, magnetic, electronic, photocatalytic and catalytic applications such as gas sensors, catalysts, UV absorbers and fuel cells. Furthermore, metal nanoparticles have made a progress because their unique properties and potential applications areas such as microelectronics, optoelectronics, catalysis, photocatalysis, magnetic materials, information storage and others. Nickel nanoparticles have been widely used for magnetic recoring applications due to high magnetization behavior. Nickel and zinc oxide nano particles have separately different superior properties. It is expected that, nickel zinc oxide nanocomposite particles have both of qualified properties of nickel and zinc oxide nano particles. In this study high purity nickel and zinc nitrate salt was used to produce sphrecical Ni/ZnO nanocomposite particles via Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis (USP). High purity nickel nitrate hexahydrate, (Ni(NO3)2.6H2O) and zinc nitrate hexahydrate (Zn(NO3)2. 6H2O) metal salts were used to prepare a precursor aqueous solution and concentration solutions were 0.1M, 0.2M and 0.4M. Nitrogen and hydrogen with 0.5 mL/min constant flow rate was used to reduction process in inert atmosphere at 700°C, 800°C, 900°C. Precursor solution was atomized a high frequency ultrasonic atomizor with a frequency of 1.3 MHz and then thermodynamic reactions were performed into the furnace. Yield Ni/ZnO nanocomposite particles were subjected to X-ray diffraction analyses (XRD) for phase analyses, crystalline size and crystal structure, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) for particle size and morphology, Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) for mass of ratio determination, Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) for magnetic properties and photoreactor for photocatalytic properties. The morphology of the particles is almost spherical. According to EDS results, it is determined that there are only Ni, Zn and O elements with no impurity into the particles. Crystalline size is also calculated with the help of well-knwns Debye-Scherrer and Williamson-Hall equations. Results showed that crystalline size of nike and zinc oxide particles show ascending trend by temperature and concentration. At the end of the characterization studies, optimal initial solution concentration and operating temperature were designated. It is clearly seen that, magnetic poperties of particles were changed with the changing concentration and removal rate of the methylene blue under the UV-A ray was determined with using photocatalytic tests at 700°C.
