Aiskhylos'un ?Zincire Vurulmus Prometheus? isimli tragedyasi, antik dönemlerdengünümüze ulasan Prometheus mitosu hakkindaki önemli kaynaklardan biridir. Çaglarboyunca sanatin bütün dallarinda tema olarak seçilmis ve pek çogu tarafindan Aiskhylosgibi ?baskaldiri kavrami? ön plana çikarilarak ele alinmistir. Prometheus mitosununbaskaldiri anlaminda resim sanatina yansimasi Aydinlanma Dönemi ile yayginlikkazanmistir. Aydinlanma dönemiyle birlikte aklin ve bilginin zorbaliga karsi bir simgesihaline gelen ?Prometheus'un atesi insanogluna getirmesi? sahnesi resim sanatinda daha çokgörülür olmustur. Bu tezde Aiskhylos'un dönemi ve Aydinlanma'dan günümüze uzanansüreç toplumsal ve siyasal anlamiyla incelenmis, resim sanatina yansimalari ortayaçikarilmaya çalisilmistir.
The Tragedy ?Prometheus Bound? of Aiskhylos is an important resource of mithologyabout Prometheus which has come to our century from the antique times. The Mythos aboutPrometheus has been the theme of all branches of art in all centruries and it has often beenused emphasising ?concept of rebellion?, just like Aiskhylos had done. Concept ofrebellion, which reflects in art of painting around Mythos of Prometheus ,has becamewidespread with enlightment period. The scene of Prometheus?s bringing fire to humankindwhich has became a symbol of entellect and wisdom with the enlightment term, has beenused more often in art of painting. In this thesis, Aiskhylos?s time and the processenlightment to present time, has been examined and refrections in art of painting has beentried to reveal.
