Amaç: Sağlığı koruma ve geliştirme kavramlarının birbirini tamamlaması sebebiyle bahsedilen kavramları birlikte ele alan, Sağlığı Gelişme Modeli ve Sağlık İnanç Modeli olmak üzere iki teori üzerine temellendirilen ayrıca tüm ergen yaş gruplarını kapsayan okul çocukları örneklemi üzerinde geliştirilen ölçeğe literatürde rastlanmaması sebebiyle bu çalışma ergenlerde sağlığın geliştirilmesi ve korunması davranışlarını belirlemeye yönelik geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç geliştirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Ölçek geliştirme aşaması ve geliştirilen ölçeğin uygulanması aşaması olmak üzere iki aşamalı olan araştırma metodolojik ve tanımlayıcı tipte bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın evrenini Eskişehir merkez ilçelerindeki toplam 44 lise ve 60 ortaokulun tümünde bulunan 69 bin 906 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi ise tabakalı örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırma 03.10.2016-14.10.2016 tarihleri arasında Eskişehir merkez ilçelerindeki 44 lise ve 60 ortaokuldaki 1600 ölçek geliştirme aşaması ve 960 geliştirilen ölçeğin uygulanması aşaması olmak üzere 2560 öğrenci üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri "Sosyodemografik Özellikler Formu" ve geliştirilmiş olan "Ergenlerde Sağlığı Geliştirici ve Koruyucu Davranışlar Ölçeği" ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yapılan geçerlik analizleri; içerik (kapsam) geçerliği, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi; güvenirlik analizleri ise madde analizi, Cronbach Alpha'dır. Bulgular: Ergenlerde Sağlığı Geliştirici ve Koruyucu Davranışlar Ölçeği madde toplam korelasyon katsayıları 0.25 ile 0.56 arasındadır. Ölçeğin Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin değeri ise .91 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizine ilişkin modele ait uyum indeksleri ölçek için önerilen modelin uygun olduğunu göstermektedir. Sekiz alt boyut ve 48 maddeden oluşan ölçeğin toplamının Cronbach Alpha katsayısı 0.90 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Çalışmanın bulguları, ölçeğin yeterli düzeyde geçerli ve güvenilir olduğunu göstermiştir.
Objective: The study was carried out to develop a valid and reliable instrument for identifying promotive and protective health behaviors in adolescents, since the concept of health protection and development is a whole and based on two theories, Health Promotion Model and Health Belief Model and the scale developed on the sample of school children covering all adolescent age groups that deal with these two concepts is not found in the literature. Method: The two-phase survey is a methodological and descriptive type of study, with a scale development phase and a step-by-step implementation of the developed scale. The universe of the research is composed of 69 thousand 906 students in all around the 44 high schools and 60 middle schools in the central districts of Eskişehir. The sampling was determined by stratified sampling method. The research was carried out on 2560 students between the dates of 03.10.2016 - 14.10.2016, with the application stages of 1600 scale development and 960 developed scale in 44 high schools and 60 secondary schools in the central districts of Eskişehir. The data of the study were collected by "Sociodemographic Characteristics Form" and developed "Promotive and Protective Health Behaviors Scale of Adolescents". Validity analyzes in the evaluation of data is; content (scope) validation, confirmatory factor analysis; reliability analysis is item analysis, Cronbach Alpha. Findings: The total correlation coefficients of the Promotive and Protective Health Behaviors Scale of Adolescents are between 0.25 and 0.56. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin score for the scale was found .91. Fit indices for confirmatory factor analysis show that the proposed model is appropriate for the scale. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the whole scale consist of eight sub-dimensions and 48 items was found to be 0.90. Conclusion: The findings of the study show that the scale is valid and reliable enough.
