"Rivayet Kitaplarında Esbâbü'l-Hadîs" isimli bu doktora tezi, bir giriş ve üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Tezin giriş bölümünde çalışmanın amacı, kapsamı, metodu ve kaynakları hakkında bazı bilgiler verilmiş, ardından tezin kavramsal çerçevesini oluşturan esbâbü vürûdi'l-hadis, esbâbü nüzûl, sebeb-i rivayet, siyak ve bağlam kavramları açıklanmıştır. Tezin birinci bölümünde; esbâb-ı vürûdi'l hadis ilminin tarihi gelişimi, hadis edebiyatı çerçevesinde ihtilâfü'l-hadis, nâsihü'l-hadis, garîbü'l-hadis ve şerhü'l-hadis gibi ilimlerle ilişkili olarak ele alınmış, ardından esbâb-ı vürûdi'l hadis alanında yazılan müstakil eserler ayrıntılı bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde ayrıca sebeb-i vürûd bilgilerinin içeriğiyle ilgili bazı bilgilere de yer verilmiştir. Tezin "Fıkıh, Tefsir ve Siyer Eserlerinde Sebeb-i Vürûd Bilgilerinin Kullanımı" başlığını taşıyan ikinci bölümünde; hicrî ikinci ve üçüncü asırda söz konusu ilim dallarında yazılan birtakım eserlerde vürûd sebebiyle beraber zikredilen bazı hadisler incelenmiş, bu bilgilerden nasıl istifade edilebileceği noktasında bazı açıklamalar yapılmıştır. Tezin üçüncü bölümünde ise, öncelikle hadislerin vürûd sebeplerinin tesbit yolları, tasnifi, taaddüdü ve hadisin anlaşılmasına etkisi konu edinilmiştir. Bu bölümde ayrıca esbâb-ı vürûdi'l-hadis ilminin neden istenen düzeyde gelişmediğiyle ilgili bazı tesbitler sıralanmıştır. Sonuç olarak; hadislerin söyleniş sebepleriyle ilgili hadis ilmi dışında fıkıh, tefsir ve siyer gibi farklı alanlarda yazılan eserlerden de istifade edilebileceği örneklerle gösterilmiş ve hadislerin anlaşılmasında bu ilim dallarından da istifade etmenin gerekliliği bu tez ile ortaya konulmuştur. This dissertation, which is titled as "Asbāb al-Ḥadīth in the Narration Books," consists of an introduction and three subsequent chapters. In the introduction section, purpose of the study, content and methodology of the study are examined. Also, concepts of asbāb al-wurūd al-ḥadīth, asbāb al-nuzūl, sabab al-riwāya, ṣiyāq and context are explained as the conceptual framework of the study in this section. In the first chapter, historical course of the science of asbāb wurūd al-ḥadīth is explored in relation to such sciences in the context of ḥadīth literature as ikhtilāf al-ḥadīth, naṣīḥ al-ḥadīth, gharīb al-ḥadīth, and sharḥ al-ḥadīth, which is followed by a detailed analysis of separate works written in the science of asbāb wurūd al-ḥadīth. In addition, this chapter also provides some information on the content of the information regarding sabab al-wurūd. In the second chapter, "Making use of the information regarding sabab al-wurūd in the works of Fiqh, Tafsīr, and Siyar," an analysis of some of the traditions recorded with their asbāb al-wurūd in the books written within the above mentioned sciences is provided along with some explanations on how to benefit from the information regarding sabab al-wurūd. The third chapter firstly deals with ways to identify asbāb wurūd of traditions along with classification and taʿaddud thereof as well as its impact on the way traditions are understood. Finally, it draws conclusions about why the science of asbāb wurūd al-ḥadīth has not developed up to the desired level. In conclusion, this dissertation illustrates with examples the fact that in the matter of asbāb wurūd al-ḥadīth, one can benefit not only from the literature of the science of Ḥadīth, but also from the works written within the sciences of Fiqh, Tafsīr, and Siyar, and thus it demonstrates the necessity of making use of the literature of these sciences besides the science of Ḥadīth in order to better understand traditions.
