Soğuk Savaş'ın ardından uluslararası sistem yeniden yapılanma sürecine girmiştir. Bu çalışmada uluslararası sistem bazında yaşanan değişikliğin Ortadoğu ve İran'daki yansımaları ele alınmıştır. Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin öncülüğünü üstlendiği değişim sürecinde Ortadoğu'nun 21. yüzyılda nasıl bir dönüşüm yaşayacağı tartışılmaktadır. Ortadoğu bölgesinin özelinde ise jeopolitik ve jeostratejik öneme haiz İran göz önüne alınmıştır. Bu değerlendirmeleri yaparken Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin bir dış politika aracı olarak Samuel Huntington'ın ?Medeniyetler Çatışması? tezi ve jeopolitik kuramlarını ne derecede hayata geçirdiği incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda yüzyılın en önemli siyasi hareketlerinden birisi olan ?Arap Uyanışı? ele alınırken, İran ve Türkiye'nin bu değişim sürecinde üstlendikleri rol ve ABD ile olan ilişkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Başka bir değişle, uluslararası düzeyde yaşanan sistem bunalımına çözüm arayışındaki ABD'nin Ortadoğu politikası ve bu politikanın kilit noktası olan İran değerlendirilmiştir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Medeniyetler Çatışması, Jeopolitik, ABD, Ortadoğu, İran
After the Cold War, the International System entered an era of reconstructing. In this work, the reflections of this change within the level of international system on the Middle East and Iran are reviewed. How the Middle East is to be transformed in this process of change led by the United States of America is another topic of argument in this work. Furthermore, a special emphasis is made upon Iran which has geopolitical and geostrategic importance in the Middle East Region. In doing so, it is analyzed that how the United States of America has used and realized the theory ?the Clash of Civilizations? proposed by Samuel Huntington and the other geopolitical theories. Within this context, ?the Arap Spring? as one of the most important political movements in the century as well as the role of Iran and Turkey with their relations between the USA in this process of change is evaluated. In other words, the Middle East Policy of the US that has been seeking for a solution to the system crisis within the International level and Iran that is a key point to this policy in question are reviewed.Key Words: the Clash of Civilizations, Geopolitics, the USA, the Middle East, Iran
