Bu araştırmada, bilişsel esneklik düzeyi ile öfke düzeyi ve öfke ifade tarzları arasındaki ilişki ve bilişsel esneklik puanlarının cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, anne-baba eğitim düzeyi ve sosyo-ekonomik düzey gibi sosyo-demografik değişkenlere göre değişip değişmediği incelenmiştir.Araştırmanın örneklemini lise 9, 10, 11 ve 12. sınıflara devam eden 447 erkek, 553 kız olmak üzere toplam 1000 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Veriler ?Bilişsel Esneklik Ölçeği? (BEÖ), ?Sürekli Öfke ve Öfke İfade Tarzları Ölçeği? (SÖÖİTÖ) ve ?Kişisel Bilgi Formu? ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde Pearson korelasyon katsayısı, t testi ve varyans analizi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, tüm grupta bilişsel esneklik puanları ile SÖÖİTÖ alt ölçeklerinden sürekli öfke, öfke içte ve öfke dışta arasında negatif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler bulunurken, öfke kontrolü alt ölçeği arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, bilişsel esneklik puanları sınıf düzeyleri açısından dokuzuncu sınıflar lehine anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaşırken cinsiyet, anne-baba eğitim düzeyi ve sosyo-ekonomik düzey açısından böyle bir farklılık bulunmamıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler : Bilişsel Esneklik, Öfke, Ergenlik
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between cognitive flexibility scores of high school students and their anger level and anger styles. It was also examined that whether there is a difference among students? cognitive flexibility scores in terms of students? gender, grade level, socio-economic level and their parents? education level.The participants of this study were 1000 students graded between 9-12 from senior high schools in Adana. To collect the data, Cognitive Flexibility Scale (CFS), Trait Anger and Anger Styles Scale (TAASS) and Personal Information Form were administered. Data were analyzed by using the statistical tecnique of Pearson?s Product Moment Correlation coefficients, t test and varyans analysis. Significant negative correlations were found between cognitive flexibility scores and the scores of TAASSs? subscales (trait anger, anger-in, anger-out, anger control), while there were significant positive correlations between cognitive flexibility scores and the scores of TAASSs? subscales (anger control). For students of grade 9 the cognitive flexibility score was higher and more significant than those of grade 11. No difference found among students? cognitive flexibility scores in terms of students? gender, their parents? education and social economic level.Keywords : Cognitive Flexibility, Anger, Adolescence
