Muhammed (s.a.v.)'in hayatı, Râşit halîfelerin hal tercümeleri, Emevîler, Abbasîler ve bu
dönemlerde varolan bağımsız hânedanlar, Moğol İmparatorluğu ve Timurlu Hanedanı
dönemleri anlatılmıştır.
Hândmîr'in Habibü-s-Siyer'i ise her biri dört bölümden olmak üzere üç ciltten
Muhammed
(s.a.v.)'in ve sonraki halife ve hânedanların dönemini, doğuştan başlayıp Safevîlerin ilk
sunabilmektir.
Çalışmamız giriş ve iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde Mîrhând ve
Hândmîr'in hayatları, yaşadıkları dönem ve eserlerinde yararlandıkları kaynakların yanında
ortaya koydukları metodoloji işlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Birinci bölümde Ravzatü's-Safâ'nın
Sâmanîler bölümünün çevirisi, ikinci bölümde ise Habibü's-Siyer'in Sâmânîler bölümünün
çevirisi yer almaktadır.

Mirkhwand (1433-1497) and Khandemir (1475-1536), who are the leading historians
of the XVth century, lived during the Timurid State (1370-1507). Khandemir, who was the
granddaughter of Mirkhwand from his mother's side, lived for a while during the time of the
Mughal State (1526-1858), which was established after the Timurid State, and died in 1536.
Mirkhwand and Khandemir were especially protected by one of the Timurid rulers Hüseyin
Baykara (1438-1506) and his vizier Ali Şir Nevâî (1441-1501).
Mirkhwand's work named Ravzatü's-Safâ consists of seven volumes. The first six
volumes of the work were written by Mirkhwand himself. The author also started the
preparations for the seventh volume, but since his life was not enough, this volume was
completed by his grandson, Khandemir. In the introduction at the beginning of Ravzatü'sSafa; the copyright reasons of the work, the benefits of the science of history, the
qualifications of the historian and the important history books up to the time the work was
written are mentioned. In summary, from the first volume to the seventh volume of the work;
the subject of creation, the lives of the prophets before the Islamic prophet, the history of the
old Iranian sultans, the life of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v), the translations of the Rashid
caliphs, the Umayyads, the Abbasids and the independent dynasties existing in these periods,
the Mongol Empire and the Timurid Dynasty periods are explained.
Khandemir's Habibü-s-Siyer consists of three volumes, each of which has four
chapters. The work includes the creation of the worlds, the heavens and the earth, the stories
of the prophets, the lives of scholars and rulers such as Pythagoras, Plato, Socrates and
Aristotle, the period of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v) and the next caliphs and dynasties,
and the events until the death of Shah Ismail, the first sultan of the Safavids, in 1524.
This study focuses on the Samanids mentioned in Ravzatü's-Safâ and Habibü's-Siyer,
as well as the methodology of the authors. The aim of the study is to reveal the records of the
grandfather and grandson Mirkhwand and Khandemir about the Samanids in a comparative
way, as well as to determine the principles of writing the history of the two historians in the
relevant chapters, to translate the chapter on the Samanids in the works and to present them
to the researchers.
Our study consists of an introduction and two parts. In the introduction, the lives of
Mirkhwand and Khandemir, the period in which they lived, and the methodology they put
forth as well as the sources they used in their works were tried to be discussed. In the first
section, there is the translation of the Samanid section of Ravzatü's-Safâ, and in the second
section, the translation of the Samanid section of Habibü's-Siyer. |
