Poşas,living mostly in the eastern and north eastern parts of turkey, is a seminomadic community who makes their living by making and selling sieves. Poşas are defined as a branch of Gypsies. However, the group rejects being defined as Gypsy due to the negative prejudice about them. In other words, Poşas prefer to define themselves different from Gypsies. In order to define the boundaries between Gypsies and to be accepted by the society they live in, they use means such as gender,labor process, language, religion and essence history. Gender is the most determining one of these tools. The honor and virtue of Posa community depends entirely on the honor and virtue of Posa men, and, the honor of Posa men on the virtue of Posa women. Therefore, the community thinks that they naturally have the right of controll woman's sexuality. They give great importance to their woman's virtuousness because it is one way to separated and not to be defined as Gypsies who make their women prostitute.
