Çalışmamızda, İslam ikonografisi içerisinde önemli bir yere sahip olduğunu düşündüğümüz, farklı etki ve nedenlerle yapıldıkları anlaşılan Hz. Muhammed ile ilgili tasvirler, ayrıntılı bir şekilde ve kronoloji itibariyle tanıtılıp bu tasvirlerin kapsamlı bir değerlendirme yöntemiyle İslam ikonografisi içerisindeki yeri ve önemi belirlenmiştir. İslam İkonografisinde Hz. Muhammed konusu kapsamında, tespit edebildiğimiz 400 tasvir ikonografik açıdan incelenmiştir. Hz. Muhammed ile ilgili bugüne değin yapılan çalışmaların çoğu, ya hayatı üzerine ya da hayatını anlatan bazı popüler eserlerin tasvirleri üzerine yoğunlaşmıştır. Dini hassasiyetler ve İslam'da tasvir yasağı düşüncesi, bu konu üzerinde ülkemizde araştırma yapmayı zorlaştırmış; bu nedenle de Hz. Muhammed'e ait tasvirlerin ikonografik açıdan ayrıntılı bir şekilde ele alınarak değerlendirildiği yeterli sayıda bilimsel çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Çalışmamız, Hz. Muhammed ile ilgili tasvirlerin geniş bir zaman diliminde bol miktarda var olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. İkonografik sıra ile konu bütünlüğü bozulmadan ele alınarak ayrıntılı karşılaştırma ve değerlendirmelerle, bu tasvirlerin İslam ikonografisi içerisindeki yeri ve önemi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. In our study, the depictions of Prophet Muhammad, made with different effects and reasons, which we think they have a significant place in Islamic Iconography, are introduced in detail and chronologically, and also their place and significance in Islamic Iconography have been identified via an exhaustive assessment method. In terms of the subject "Prophet Muhammad in Islamic Iconography", 400 depictions we can determine have been examined iconographically. So far, the majority of studies related to the Prophet Muhammad, has focused on his life or some of the popular works of depictions about his life. The religious sensitivities and thought of the depiction ban in Islam have hampered doing a search for this subject in our country, therefore, there is not enough scientific studies examined iconographically in detail about the depictions of Prophet Muhammad. Our study has demonstrated that there are plenty depictions about Prophet Muhammad, over an extented period of time. These depictions are tried to be determined their roles and importance with detailed comparison and assessment in Islamic Iconography without disrupting the subject integrity.
