Çanakkale Victory comes to prominence in terms of both World and Turkish history. Therefore, the commemoration of the Çanakkale Victory is established as a tradition starting from the victory's early years. This study aims to focus on the visits undertaken to the Gelibolu Peninsula and analyze the commemorations with regard to the Turkish press. The study's chief objective is to determine how the glory and honor, brought via Çanakkale Victory, are commemorated and under what circumstances the Peninsula is visited by the society and the state officials. The documents, specializing in the commemorations and visits, undertaken by Turkish and foreign state officers, institutions, and organizations, are considered throughout the research study. In addition, the effect of the commemorations and ceremonies, performed in foreign countries, upon the Turkish press is mentioned. |
